There is life…after the storm

Life after the catastrophic disaster in May 2011 in Joplin, was so very different. Newer routines, new home & new life.
Many times you wonder how we get so stuck in a rut, even as Christians, we need too get out of our comfort zone. A comfort zone to help each other in need. This is what is an eye opening for everyone.
Everyone who survived or affected by this disaster struggles, but we are not victims we are survivors, surviving the insurmountable odds with a strength given to us by God. Many who do not believe, this was God’s grace, His mercy, for all who survived.
Esther a book of the Bible which has the name of God not in it but written all over it. Well there was a reversal of destiny in the book, and Mordecai was then taking the place of Haman who was impaled due to the law he wrote about annailating the Jews in the Kingdom of Persia. The Joplin Tornado was my reversal of destiny, where in a short amount of time I would be a married woman come year end, yet the adventure getting there was a treat.
Adventures come in all shapes and sizes. Sometimes they are small other times they are huge, and changes your life in a whole nother perspective. Sometimes these changes are suprising sometimes you need to mourn over what has been but yet there is always something better coming up or light at the end.
When the changes are this drastic let me remind you that all things work together for our good. Sometimes it isn’t easy to see, and it is difficult. Yet we need to hang on there.

Psalm 23:4

Even though I walk through the valley of shadow of death I will fear no evil for You are with me your rod and staff.

Yes I have walked through the valley of the shadow of death , and it wasn’t an easy journey. There is a ton of stress involved but getting through oh it may be a piece of cake but it isn’t.

Many things were said to me, oh, get over it, when are you getting new work pants, do not rehash these memories, yet I have to say those are things younever say to a survivor it only makes their healing time longer and harder. Enourage them to look to God and get in His True Word, for it will not fail them but give them strength to face it day by day. Give them time to grieve whether they have lost a loved one or are recalling a memory that means alot to them, but pray pray pray for them.
