{Gather} Five Minute Friday

Today is Friday which means today we write for five minutes with no grammar checks no backspaces or anything. We will then connect at Kate @ Five Minute Friday. We will then encourage our neightbours on either side of us.

Today’s prompt is gather!

Ready, Set Go!!

We gather for Thanksgiving. We gather for picnics. We gather and pray. We gather. We gather the ingredients we are going to use to cook with for the dish we are going to cook. When we gather to pray we lift each other up and pray for what they need.

Survivors gather their belongings as they salvage what they can. They gather the memories of what was their lives were. They gather what is left of the memories. They gather what they can find. It is hard to gather what was left of their lives.

Yet as they gather what was left of their lives, can we not gather to help them alongside them in this journey? {stop} We can gather items they need in order to go on with their lives. Clothes gathered to help them go to work, and head to work. They gather everything they can from groceries, clothes, transportation, etc…..

So what will you gather for Survivors to help them?

Will you listen to God and gather what he wants you to gather for survivors?

Will you be willing to gather items new and send it to them?

Will you gather items to help survivors who have lost everything in a fire?

Will you gather items to help survivors who have lost everything to a tornado?

Will you gather items to help surivors who have lost everything to a hurricane?

What will you gather for survivors?

Will you be willing to order new Bibles and gather them for survivors?

What will you gather and reach out to the survivors. What is God calling you to gather? Are you going to obey him and gather the items He requests you to gather.

  1. I like the message you gave in this post and the direction you took with the word gather. Have a great weekend!

  2. Gathering can be a comforting word or a pitiful one depending on the circumstance. The saddest, but most endearing verse in the Bible is Luke 13:34, when Jesus said, “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to GATHER your children together, as a hen GATHERS her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing.” I am your neighbor at Fellowship Fridays linkup.
