Today is Friday and everyone is ready for the weekend. Today it is five minute Friday and we get to write for five minutes with no grammar change nor backspace or anything like this.

Today’s prompt is NEW!!!!!

Ready Set Go!

New. We get new clothes and school supplies at the beginning of the school year, and at Christmas. Yet have we ever considered what new is to a survivor? New routines. New life. New “temporary” homes. New cuddlys for children. New beds and furniture. New. Everyday in a survivor’s life is new. New for their growth and trust in God. New fokr the plan that God has for all the survivors. Survivorship is new to every survivor. New to the wildfire families. New to the tornado survivors. New to the hurricane survivors. New. Everything and everyday it seems that a survivor is finding something new in their lives. They are discovering this new is growing them in their faith. They are discovering what a blessed story they (stop) are to do with their stories.

Being a survivor, still stuff is new to me. Discovering how he is blessing me through every journey. Every turn in the road. Every time a blog post is seen by someone who needs it. Seen by someone who is walking in the path. Reaching out beyond the realm of social media to touch people’s lives. To reach into their lives and for it to become new.

New.

New life.

New routine.

New journeys.

New life in God through the disaster.

  1. All good questions. I don’t think any of us can know what it’s like to be a survivor of those tragedies unless we’ve gone through it ourselves. There is not beauty in the devastation, but what the new affords is an opportunity for God to bring beauty from ashes. To rebuild and renew and there is something worthwhile in that.
