Good Morning Everyone! Today is friday, and it is the first Five Minute friday with Lisa Jo Baker for the year 2014. This is such a joy to write again, and to see what others are writing on our word prompt today. We will set our timers and write for five minutes on this one prompt, link up with others @ www.lisajobaker.com and then go and encourage other who have also written on this same topic. Oh and yes, there is no editing of the sorts write what is on your heart!
Today’s Prompt is:
Fight. What do we fight for? Our voice to be heard by someone? A child fighting for your attention? What about a survivors voice wanting to be heard above the din and ruckus of it all. We all fight for something. Yet it is our life’s circumstances what brings out the fight in all of us.
Do you know who fights for you the Most? Do you your fighter fights for your attention daily? Your time with Him is very important too. Jesus will fight for us if we hold still.
Exo 14:14 (NIV) 14 The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
Deu 1:30 (NIV) 30 The Lord your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes,
Deu 3:22 (NIV) 22 Do not be afraid of them; the Lord your God himself will fight for you.”
The word fight is mention in the NIV 111 times, sometimes pointing directly at us other times fighting for his people. I do know this. He has gone to bat for me and has been my fighter in the rink as I sit on the sidelines waiting for the winning punch to be thrown. He has fought for me in the most dire circumstances that I have gone through.
Deu 20:4 (NIV) 4 For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.”
Jer 1:19 (NIV) 19 They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.
As a survivor myself of a very deadly tornado that struck Joplin in May of 2011. I am grateful for how he has fought for me and my family. He enabled friends to take us in and provide help for us all. He enabled so very much. (stop) Yet he also fought for us in everything we needed. From beds given to us, to having a temporary home, and yes granting us a night’s sleep when sleep struggled to come. He fought beside us, in front of us and behind us.
What has He fought for you?
What will you give him so He can fight for You?
