Modesty and the Survivor Pt. 3

So now survivors you have reached the point where you need to truly begin the rebuilding of your lives. Modesty is also key in this part of your life.weddingdress So many key perspectives in this.

Many times when going through a disaster, clothes are often donated to us by friends and relatives. We need to be able to go through them and know what is God Honoring and what isn’t. As you sort through the clothes question yourself as to what you truly will wear and what is right in the eyes of God.

Remember also that school will be just around the corner so school clothes and supplies will be needed. There is so many types of clothes out there at this moment. Many things are going back to the eighties and nineties, a time when I was growing up.

As parents you will need to decide what you will and will not allow your child to wear.

Asking your child is this what God would want you to wear? Is this drawing attention to myself? There are times when shopping with and for our Children, that they want to look a certain way especially the pre-teens, teens and young adults, but that isn’t what is important. Modesty is worth it in the entire long run. We have inner beauty that God gave us.  A beauty to shine out like any other. A beauty to shine the light of Jesus to Everyone. 

Asking yourself is it pure, is it??? Memorizing the following verse below, is something to help you and your family about dressing modestly.

Philippians

8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

We as parents need to chose the right and what boundaries we chose for our children. Boundaries that will make them think of inner beauty not outer.

4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight

We need to let our children especially our daughters know that inner beauty is far more important than anything else. God is wanting us to have a gently spirit and quiet spirit. Our inner beauty is far worth more than our outer beauty. As survivors we have a beauty that has something so amazing that is crazy with everything else.

I have always been able to find modest clothing on the sale racks and just love them but you never even know what you find. Sale racks typically have clothes that no one wants to purchase or the store has an overstock of them in abundance. i have found some of the best and modest clothes on these racks. They are wonderful. Old Navy is one of the best places for shopping on the sale racks and they are worth the price.
