Children and God’s Word after a Disaster

I know I have written about children and anxiety from the Disaster. Have you done any follow up with your children? Have you taken care of them?

Taking care of our children after a disaster is also a must. They need to know that they are secure wherever they are at. Security to a child is detrimental to their lives.

Yes also spending time with your child in God’s True Word. They need to know that they are special and that God is always there no matter what.

He watches our coming and going.

He watches us when we are awake.

He knows what is bothering us before we talk to him about it.

Proverbs 3.5-6 is a set of verses that any child can learn. They can learn it as a family unit who is studying this chapter during the family study.

God want us to introduce our children to Him. They need to know that he is there no matter what. He is the one who loves them.

He has us engraved in the palm of his hands.

Isaiah 49.16

16 See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;

your walls are ever before me.
Here is a song I learned in BSF and did with my Toddler class:
BSF Genesis Hymn 2012-2013 Psalm 100
Make a glad noise to the Lord our God Know that He has made us and We are His. We are His people the sheep of his pasture. Enter His gates with Thanksgiving and praise.
Psalm 100 (Psalm 100)
A psalm. For giving grateful praise.

1Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
2Worship the Lordwith gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
3 Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
4Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
5For the Lordis good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Teaching children the verses from God True Word is very very important in this phase of recovery because they can then tell you what they are learning and how they are learning it. They need to know that God Has power over everything. He is the one who controls everything.
Let your child see the relationship that you have with the Lord. Let them ask for a Bible with Red letters in it. Let them ask for one of their own. Let them see you dance for joy. Play David Crowder’s You are my joy when you want to have a dance party celebrating the next phase in life.
Allow them to dance their own unique way.
There are over 240 references in the bible that talk about God as our Joy.

I hope and pray that your children will be stronger in their faith after going through the disaster, and that You will be the prime example for their faith.
