God‘s word is the only thing that stays the same. It never changes it. It is always the same. Today. Yesterday and forever.
The reason for the disasters that we have is because of the fallen nature. The sin. The sin that envelopes every life. The fact that we aren’t perfect. Jesus was the only one perfect. He is the one who saved us from death, because He conquered death.
Yet many may not take this look upon the disaster that happened in Joplin. It is the fact that He has given us the city to bring back to Christ. To reach the unreached. To reach and to heal those who are struggling to heal.
Some may not care if they help you heal. Some just have a hardened heart for what is going on. Work can be that type of place. Yes it is hard to leave those feelings @ the door, for they travel inside with you whether work wants them or not. He is the one who gave us the feelings, and would love to be glorified through the feelings.
The disaster zone may not be a place you could yet travel through, but in time God will give you the strength to travel through them. He always knows and cares for you. There is freedom through the Word of God. There is freedom in God. Freedom in His Son.
After the Joplin Disaster, there were many things that withstood the tornado.
The cross @ St. Mary’s Catholic Church withstood the winds. To this day it is a symbol of hope. Of hope where none should have been. A cross. A reminder of the fact that Christ died for us.
A cross that still stands to this day.
To this Day another tree stands to remind people of Joplin’s spirit to move on past the Tornado.
This is what we call the Spirit Tree. this tree is also a symbol of hope. It symbolizes many things.
What better way to symbolize a city coming back up.
We may have been knocked down, but God has given us the truth on which we stand.
We stand on God’s Word for strength power and fighting our battles. We stand on His word for Hope, Love and faith.
says the following:
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
As the survivors get back onto a new everyday living schedule. Faithfully pray for them. Pray for the hopes in their new lives. Pray that people can love them, even when it is hardest to love them. Pray that we can love them no matter what. They need love, care, faith etc…not hurtful words, or anything of this nature. Love them. Care for them. Reach out to them. Witness to those who are lost.
Never give up on praying for survivors. Never give up on them. They will be strong in the latter times.
