Survivors not victims

Many have used the term victims, but that truly is not what anyone is when they survive a disaster like this. Many times we get the term wrong. It hurt me to be called a victim because it was a natural disaster not something else.

Victim does have a definition for it during disasters:

An unfortunate person who suffers from a disaster or other adverse circumstance.

Yet this term does define us, but remember we endure henceforth are survivors. A victim, yes suffers but it should not encase the families of natural disasters. We have to endure it, which is where survivors come into play.

Survivor:# One who survives; one who endures through disaster or hardship.

Those who have survived the natural disasters around the United States from NE to Texas all who have endured the recovery process. Each and everyday becomes a new routine and a new normal.

This definition reminds me of what Paul wrote about Enduring the Race marked out for us. With those who have gone ahead and are cheering us on.  says we run the race with endurance. With our eyes on the prize.

Some of us are parents and this is hard on your children I know, but God will help your families endure for the season. Endure for you children’s sake. Endure for the Families sake. Endure for you marriage.  Remember Times will be rough in many instances but your strong-fast hold upon God is what will get you through it.

Marriages are going to have a strain upon them, but God in his mighty power is the one you go to. He is the one that binds the couple together. He knows what you are going through, and will be beside you the entire step of the way. He is the superglue for your marriages. He placed couples together, and is the source of their strength.

Pray continually. .

It is our duty as Christians to Pray continually…and that we shall…

Pray for the children who have survived the disasters these past 2 years

Pray for the husbands who have to work and find new “temporary homes for their families”

Pray for the mothers who have little bits

Pray for the single working moms trying to fill 2 shoes

Pray for the SAHM for God to enable them to clean/salvage and take care of their families.

Pray for everyone to be taken care of.

Pray for the marriages that have gone through a lot in the past 2 years.

Be Thankful for everything. Be thankful for your children. Be thankful for your spouse. Be thankful for your temporary home. Just in all those circumstances be thankful.

What normalcy would you like to pray for the survivors to have going forward?

How many would have prayer groups to pray over those who have survived?

There are many out there who do not understand what a support is that people fully understand that we have survived and endured. A victim is not who we are. We are survivors and by the Grace of God We stand with the King who gave us life and a testimony as to who God is.
